64845 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is the Te Au Reka case flow management project suffering challenges; if so what mitigations or management are being put in place?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised the Te Au Reka (Caseflow Management) has faced challenges with the vendor’s speed of delivery, and stability of resources. Additionally, the complexity of the design is higher than originally anticipated resulting in additional effort and activity. Since March there has been active executive oversight from the Ministry, Judiciary, and the vendor of these issues. In response, the vendor has taken active ownership of the performance issues by changing their delivery structures, increasing the seniority and experience of their team, adding additional resources and implementing different approaches to the work.
