64684 (2024). Steve Abel to the Minister for Resources: What does existing modelling, if any, show for the projected length of time it would take to stop a deep water blowout in New Zealand waters?

Hon Shane Jones: Multiple agencies and Ministers have responsibilities for the regulatory management of petroleum wells. The Crown Minerals Act 1991, for which I am responsible, does not regulate the environmental effects of petroleum exploration and mining activity.
