64636 (2024). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister of Education: What consultation, if any, has the Minister conducted regarding her decision to cut Te Ahu o te Reo Māori courses with the Minister of Maori Development and what was his response?

Hon Erica Stanford: I consulted with the Minister of Māori Development on the decision to bring forward the implementation of structured maths and provide PLD and resources in English and Te Reo Māori for Year 0-8 teachers and tamariki. The Minister of Māori Development is a strong supporter of closing the equity gap in maths between Māori and non-Māori students.
