63970 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Economic Development: What is the average salary of staff at any ministries, departments and agencies for which the minister is responsible, as at 1 October 2024?

Hon Melissa Lee: I am advised that, as at 30 September 2024, the average salary figure for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employments’ permanent and fixed term New Zealand employees was $104,398.85. As at 1 October 2024, the average/mean base salary of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s (NZTE) New Zealand-paid people was NZD $146,596. Note that NZTE’s global network employ locally engaged people, which have not been included in this answer. I am also advised that the average salary figure for New Zealand Growth Capital Partners is $173,179.
