63969 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Defence: What is the average salary of staff at any ministries, departments and agencies for which the minister is responsible, as at 1 October 2024?

Hon Judith Collins: As at the end of June 2024, the Ministry of Defence’s mean salary was: $143,822. As at 1 August 2024, the New Zealand Defence Force's mean salary for civilian staff was $100, 352, and for Regular Force personnel was $97,135. There has been no substantive change of these averages.
