63942 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: Will capacity for monitoring and research be reduced as a result of cuts to the fishing industry levy?

Hon Shane Jones: The overall capacity for monitoring will increase through the rollout of on-board cameras. There has been a $1.1 million decrease in cost recovered fisheries science projects, with the focus being on progressing projects that make the most important contribution to support sustainable commercial fisheries.
