63897 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What is the average salary of staff at any ministries, departments and agencies for which the minister is responsible, as at 1 October 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). DPMC hosts the functional Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery through a Cyclone Recovery Unit (CRU), a business unit of DPMC. In my capacity as the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery I am not the Responsible Minister, the Prime Minister is the Responsible Minister for DPMC. This WPQ is asking for information in the Minister’s capacity as a Responsible Minister: any ministries, departments and agencies for which the minister is responsible. The Hon Mark Mitchell, in his capacity as the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery is not a Responsible Minister. Our approach would be to refer to the Prime Minister’s response, however, the Prime Minister has not received this WPQ.
