63878 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister for Biosecurity: What outcomes, in terms of cost and time, if any, is the Minister seeking with changes to the Biosecurity Act?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Proposed amendments to the Biosecurity Act aim to modernise biosecurity legislation by addressing areas that cannot be fixed by operational changes alone. The goal is to strengthen, streamline, and future-proof the biosecurity system. This will deliver better value for money and enable more comprehensive management of risk from the same resources.
