Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been achieved on the high-level recommendation “All the data and digital enablers identified are rolled out nationally and connected for all health care providers e.g. general practice, family planning, midwives, pharmacy, allied health,” as detailed in the National Medicine Steering Group Action Plan, as at 30 September 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand has presented to the National Medicines Steering Group on their medication ecosystem roadmap. The programme is currently under active review and scoping within Health NZ. The National Medicines Steering Group continues to highlight the importance of whole of system digital enablers to support safer use of medication with increasing work on standards included in the digital services hub to increase the maturity of third party digital systems connected into the Health NZ digital ecosystem.
