Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been achieved on the high-level recommendation “To provide education on changing medicine risk profiles for health care professionals,” as detailed in the National Medicine Steering Group Action Plan, as at 30 September 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Health Quality & Safety Commission, ACC and Health New Zealand have confirmed that the Health NZ “Guidelines for Consultation with Obstetric and Related Medical Services (Referral Guidelines)” identify this risk and the referral process.
