Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Implement quality improvement indicators and initiatives to support access to quality cancer treatment’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (April to June 2024) the Cancer Control Agency has progressed work on breast cancer and lung cancer quality improvement indicators. This work continues to inform improvements to the quality of cancer services and deliver better outcomes for people diagnosed with cancer
