62636 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Develop person-specific care plans to meet the holistic needs of people affected by cancer’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (April to June 2024), work has been undertaken across the wider health sector to support the holistic needs of people affected by cancer, including: - 20 Hauora Māori organisations have been supported to develop and/or scale up their cancer navigation services. - Models of care have been developed which include a focus on person and whānau-centred care. This work allows service providers to tailor their service delivery and care plans to meet the needs of their patients.
