62630 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Support palliative care training for the wider health care workforce’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, work on the National Palliative Care Work Programme continued to focus on developing consistent and equitable models of palliative care provision across New Zealand to support better palliative care for all people who need it.
I am further advised that once this work is completed, Health New Zealand will review the workforce and training required to meet the new models of care.
