62577 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the action ‘Work with colleagues involved with other key non-communicable diseases and population health to design and implement a health promotion programme that is tailored to each ethnic group, delivered in a culturally appropriate way, addresses the unequal social determinants to health and promotes brain health for all people in Aotearoa’ under the objective ‘Reduce the incidence of dementia mate wareware’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Improving Dementia Mate Wareware Services in Aotearoa New Zealand Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to progress various work programmes that contribute to reducing the 12 risk factors of dementia. This work covers:
• National Public Health Service smoking cessation projects
• Nutrition and physical activity projects
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Alcohol harm reduction projects.
