Rt Hon Winston Peters: New Zealand is a signatory to the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (‘the Agreement’). Officials are currently preparing advice intended for Cabinet’s consideration of the Agreement in the coming months, in keeping with New Zealand’s international treaty-making process.
