62480 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Transport: What projects, if any, in Auckland have been halted or cancelled as a result of the repeal of the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax, by project title?

Hon Simeon Brown: I have been advised that revenue from the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax was being spent on slowing Aucklanders down through speed limit reductions and the installation of speed bumps. As a result of our Government’s swift action to axe the Auckland Regional Tax, the remaining revenue from the Regional Fuel Tax can be spent on the projects that Auckland needs, including the Eastern Busway, electric trains and stabling, and road corridor improvements.
