62479 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Transport: What feedback, if any, has the Minister received from Auckland Council on increasing speed limits in Auckland, by date and title?

Hon Simeon Brown: As Minister, I have received a wide range of feedback on the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024 from various individuals that are members of councils across the country. Much of this feedback has aligned with the 65% of submitters that supported our Government’s plan to reverse the previous government’s blanket speed limit reductions. I note that the public consultation on the draft Rule was managed by the Ministry of Transport.
