62471 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Police: Further to his letter to me dated 23rd September, what are the Rainbow groups that Police have been engaging with?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that some groups Police has engaged with on a national level include Qtopia, Indian Origin Pride NZ (IOPNZ), Parents of Gender Diverse Children Aotearoa, Houhou Te Rongo Kahukura, Nevertheless, The Cross Agency Rainbow Network (CARN), Amy McBride, Rainbow Wellington, and Umata, as well as Gender Minorities Aotearoa, InsideOUT Kōaro, Burnett Foundation Aotearoa. Note, Police has an extensive Diversity Liaison Officers (DLOs) network across the country therefore it is difficult to quantify the number of groups that DLO’s engage with in their local communities.
