62322 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister for the Environment: What, if any, was the longest time for a wind farm consent to be granted since January 2023, named by project?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised that the information required to answer this question is held by individual councils. While the Ministry for the Environment collects this information from councils annually, the information held by the Ministry extends to May 2023. For this reason, the information provided in this response covers the period between January 2023 and May 2023. The longest time to grant a wind farm-related consent between January and May 2023 was 59 days (working days) for the Change of conditions to the Castle Hill wind farm consent. Please note, this information includes wind farm and wind farm related consents including wind monitoring masts, earthworks, and geotechnical trials.
