62275 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections

62275 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: How many restructures, change processes or proposals, or any other sort of organisational process which led to reshuffling responsibilities or laying off employees has the Minister's department's had, if any, since 27 November 2023?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the member’s question has been interpreted to relate to Corrections’ cost-saving exercise. As a result of cost saving initiatives, Corrections has focused on removing vacancies from establishment. If any work is required to be reprioritised as a result of the decision not to fill a vacant position, this is being managed by individual business groups. I am further advised that a change process for the High Impact Innovation Programme team has been initiated. This change is still underway, but the final decision confirms much of this team’s work will be absorbed by the Ministry of Justice’s new Justice Sector Team, while a small number of roles within this team are planned to transfer to other areas of Corrections. Staff whose roles have been disestablished are working through a comprehensive people process with a team of dedicated transition advisers supporting them.
