62262 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: What, if anything, is proposed to be the default for two-lane undivided rural highways in New Zealand under the proposed Setting of Speed Limits Rule 2024?
Hon Simeon Brown: The draft Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024 proposed speed limits of between 80 – 100 km/h for rural roads and rural connectors. Exceptions were proposed for rural intersections speed zones which could have speed limits of 60 or 70 km/h and for mountainous or hill corridors which could have speed limits set between 60 – 80 km/h.
