62243 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July - September 2024 in implementing the goal ‘Older people in our care and at the end-of-life will receive care that optimises quality of life until death', as part of the Ageing Well Action Plan?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Further to the work undertaken in the quarter January-March 2024 as per my response to WPQ 22913 (2024), I am advised that the newly developed Ageing Well assessment tool now includes questions and a support plan around Advanced Care Planning, Enduring Power of Attorney and the Protection of Personal and Property Rights (Act 1988). The assessment tool now also includes further opportunities for whānau involvement in care planning and support. I am further advised that Corrections is engaging in ongoing discussions with Hospice NZ, No-one Dies Alone and volunteer groups regarding support at end of life in absence of whānau community support. This is also my response to WPQ 62247 (2024).
