62108 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister for Courts: Does the Minister have three top priorities; if so what are they, and is the reduction of fraud and scams one of them?
Hon Nicole McKee: Fraud and scams are unacceptable and can cause real harm to New Zealanders. The government has several initiatives underway to prevent and detect scams. I can inform the member that I have many priorities. These include re-writing the Arms Act 1983, reintroducing three strikes legislation, reforming our Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, and improving court timeliness so New Zealanders can have fast and efficient access to justice, to name a few.
