62046 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What work from home policies and other flexible working arrangements, if any, does the Minister have for their ministerial offices and how many employees have them?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Ministerial Services business group within the Department of Internal Affairs is responsible for directly employing all Ministerial office staff (except Portfolio Private Secretaries who are seconded by the respective government agencies). The Department has guidance regarding work from home which will be reconsidered in line with new guidance from the Public Service Commission. Currently, work from home and other flexible working arrangements are considered on a case-by-case basis and require agreement of the respective Manager or Senior Private Secretary. Information regarding the number of ministerial office staff with flexible working arrangements is not centrally recorded.
