61928 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: Will the Minister review the Harvest Strategy Standard and adopt a higher target for orange roughy and if not why not?

Hon Shane Jones: I am advised that Fisheries New Zealand does not currently have a review of the Harvest Strategy Standard on its work programme, and will consider this in the context of wider fisheries changes. Current management targets for orange roughy are informed by the guidance set out in the Harvest Strategy Standard and best available information.
