Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: Is the Government considering how catch limits should be structured to account for the Southwest Challenger Bank, in alignment with the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) Conservation and Management Measures (CMMs) 03a-2023, and if so, how; if not, why not?

Hon Shane Jones: Yes, the decision on the Southwest Challenger/ Westpac Bank catch limits will be made at SPRFMO’s Commission meeting in 2025, so this topic is still being considered.
