61851 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Attorney-General: What current policies, if any, does the Minister's department, if any, have on working from home or flexible working arrangements?
Hon Judith Collins: At Crown Law, a Flexible Working Policy and supporting Flexible Work Guidelines set out Crown Law's approach to flexible working (noting that working remotely is just one form of flexible working). The Parliamentary Counsel Office has a Flexible Work Policy that supports approval of flexible working arrangements for staff where possible. Flexible working arrangements will be approved where there is no detrimental impact on work, or additional costs to PCO. Consideration of the impact on work includes the work of the team and the Office as a whole, as well as the individual applying for the flexible arrangement. Reasons for declining a request are on the grounds specified under the Act.
