Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What advice, instructions, communications, briefings, aide memoires, if any, broken down by date or title, has the Minister or their departments, if any, sent to the Minister of Finance or Minister for the Public Service around work from home policies prior to 16 September 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) that it does not have a formal working from home or flexible working arrangements policy. The Department has flexible working guidance, which supports the requirements of the Department and provides managers and employees with flexibility in how they mutually manage work arrangements. This is in line with the Public Service Commission’s current guidance on Hybrid working and Flexible-Work-by-Default.
