61601 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: How many employees are in the Minister's departments, if any?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Corrections is one of New Zealand’s largest core agencies I am advised that as at 31 August 2024, Corrections employed 10,666.34 FTE staff. The majority of Corrections’ workforce is deployed in frontline roles across 17 Corrections-managed prisons and many more Community Corrections sites across New Zealand. The remaining staff in enable frontline staff to carry out their role by providing support.
