61558 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What current policies, if any, does the Minister's department, if any, have on working from home or flexible working arrangements?

Hon Todd McClay: The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has been reviewing its flexible work arrangement policy in recent months, and this work will reflect the guidance from the Public Service Commission and the Government. MPI is currently undertaking a stocktake of flexible working arrangements, which will be provided to the Public Service Commission. MPI staff perform a range of roles, including frontline work on farms (such as animal welfare visits), fishing vessels, on coastlines, in meat and food processers, in forests, at the border, and in rural communities that often requires them to be outside the office or formal workplace settings.
