Hon Erica Stanford: While changes to immigration settings have some impact on the numbers of visa applications, I note that the current economic environment in New Zealand also has a significant impact on employers wanting to bring in workers from offshore. I refer the Member to the attached document, which shows the number of Accredited Employer Work Visa applications approved together with approval rates before and after the 7 April policy changes for the 2024 calendar year.
