60231 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, was made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Implement routine monitoring of workforce needs assessment across the cancer continuum’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (April to June 2024) the Cancer Control Agency and Health New Zealand continued to collaborate to ensure the health system’s workforce needs to deliver sustainable, high-quality cancer services are planned for and met through Health Workforce Plans. The Cancer Control Agency also continues to work closely with Health NZ to inform workforce decisions and future planning.
