60230 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, was made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Develop roles to better support a whānau-centred and holistic approach in cancer control’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (April to June 2024), the Cancer Control Agency continued to support 20 Hauora Māori organisations to develop their cancer navigation services which are led by Health New Zealand. Insights from this work will inform advice on building this crucial support service across the country.
