Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, was made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Support high-quality cultural competency training’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand’s Health Workforce Plan 2024-27 will outline its intentions in growing the health workforce needed to provide New Zealanders with better care and to meet health targets. This will include specific planning on the cancer workforce developed in partnership with the Cancer Control Agency.
