60222 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, was made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Formalise international research partnerships and connections’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Cancer Control Agency has continued to meet at regular intervals with international partners. Relationships include the International Agency for Research on Cancer, Cancer Australia CE, International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP), Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Cancer Research UK, and the Canadian Partnership against Cancer. During this quarter (April to June 2024) the Cancer Control Agency met with the ICBP and have agreed to participate in Phase 3 of the ICBP, which will have a focus on workforce.
