60196 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, was made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Develop tools and pathways to facilitate cancer diagnosis for primary and community health’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (April to June 2024) the Cancer Control Agency continued to work with Health New Zealand on:
• Supporting the development of the national suspected lung cancer community health pathway
• Continuing the development of Optimal Cancer Care Pathways (OCCP) by tumour stream, with lung, pancreatic, and breast cancer OCCP first editions developed
• Supporting the development of the national abnormal uterine bleeding guideline which includes primary urgent referral to specialist pathway.
