60137 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Transport: What, if any, public transport improvements in Auckland are planned to coincide with the introduction of time-of-use charging to ensure viable alternatives for commuters?

Hon Simeon Brown: The Government is focused on the legislative framework to enable time of use schemes. Specific details of a possible Auckland scheme will be a matter for NZTA and Auckland Council. As the Member will be aware, the Government has axed phantom projects including Auckland Light Rail and is prioritising four major public transport projects in Auckland. This includes the completion of the City Rail Link and Eastern Busway, the Northwest Rapid Transit Corridor, and the Airport to Botany Busway.
