60131 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Prime Minister: Does the Prime Minister agree with the Mayor of Auckland’s comments in response to his government’s recent announcements regarding crime in the city: “Council is playing its part. It would be nice to see those claiming credit for a small improvement off a low base doing their bit, too…”; if not, why not?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: A number of organisations are taking action to reduce crime – central government, local government, businesses, and community groups. I’ve been pleased to see those collective efforts rewarded with a 22 percent drop in serious assaults in Auckland CBD.
