60025 (2024). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister of Housing: Has the Kāinga Ora site 56 Rata Street, New Lynn, been earmarked for redevelopment; if so, for how long has it been empty?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kainga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that the site has been identified for redevelopment. A total of 112 individual occupants (48 tenants) vacated the 40 units. The final tenants vacating in March 2024. Kāinga Ora is currently reviewing all projects against the Government’s new priority locations. As this review progresses, Kāinga Ora will be making decisions about its social housing build programme, focusing on value for money and areas of greatest social housing need.
