Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Does he support Health New Zealand Chief Executive Margie Apa’s proposed release of an interim health plan, as stated in her appearance at the Health Select Committee on 18 September 2024, if so, on what date does he expect that interim health plan will be published?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: The New Zealand Health Plan is being developed in response to the Government Policy Statement on Health 2024-2027 which was published on 30 June 2024. The plan must be audited by the Auditor-General before it can be submitted to me for approval, and I am advised that this process will take some months. I expect to receive advice from officials in the coming weeks about options to ensure transparency around this important document.
