59952 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Associate Minister of Health: Does the Aged Care Funding & Services Models Review have cross-party support; if so, which parties are involved in supporting this review?

Hon Casey Costello: I would hope that ensuring older people get the right care, at the right time, in the right settings would be supported by all New Zealanders. I note for the Member that the NZ First-National coalition agreement commits to work on establishing bipartisan agreement to fund both care and dementia beds that New Zealand needs now and with a focus on the long term needs by 2040. I also note that the Health Committee is undertaking an inquiry into the aged care sector's current and future capacity to provide support services for people experiencing neurological cognitive disorders.
