59915 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Disability Issues: What is the total sum, if any, of projected future spend on redundancy payments to staff at ministries, departments and agencies, if any, for which the Minister is responsible as at 17 September 2024, by month and agency?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that as the Ministry of Disabled People - Whaikaha will move from a departmental agency to become a standalone Ministry, that the resourcing needed for the standalone Ministry are yet to be ascertained. Analysis for this in its early stages, and design is currently being worked through for consultation in late October. It is anticipated that the majority of functions and roles will either transfer to MSD DSS or the standalone Ministry.
