59891 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Transport: What is the total sum, if any, of projected future spend on redundancy payments to staff at ministries, departments and agencies, if any, for which the Minister is responsible as at 17 September 2024, by month and agency?

Hon Simeon Brown: MoT: I am advised that the Ministry does not have a projected future spend on redundacy payments as at September 2024. CAA: I am advised that the Civil Aviation Authority is reviewing the current state to guide and understand any changes needed to support the implementation of the new Civil Aviation Act in April 2025. The review outcomes will be used alongside the government’s directives and other considerations to guide any change needed to our systems, practices or structures. At this stage, there is no known total sum for future redundancy spend. NZTA: I am advised that the total projected spend on redundancy payments to employees is $1,416,180.62 as at 17 September 2024. A monthly projection is unable to be provided as aspects of the change processes are still being managed.
