59780 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Education: What is the total sum, if any, of projected future spend on redundancy payments to staff at ministries, departments and agencies, if any, for which the Minister is responsible as at 17 September 2024, by month and agency?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that its change process is still underway, so it is not yet possible to provide the total costs or projected costs for redundancy. I am advised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) that, as at 17 September 2024, the projected future spend on redundancy payments to staff is $393,384. For reasons of privacy, NZQA is unable to provide a monthly breakdown of the redundancy payments. I am advised that the Education Review Office has no projected future spend on redundancy payments.
