59758 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Climate Change: What is the total sum, if any, of projected future spend on redundancy payments to staff at ministries, departments and agencies, if any, for which the Minister is responsible as at 17 September 2024, by month and agency?

Hon Simon Watts: I am advised the cost of redundancies at the Ministry for the Environment are still to be finalised but are expected to be close to the provision circa $8M if average redundancies are $33.75k per FTE. As the Ministry's change process is still ongoing, a monthly breakdown of future projected spend on redundancy payments has not been finalised.
