59711 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Education: What advice, information, briefings, or reports is the Minister or their office aware of, if any, listed by title, date, and agency, regarding accommodations and support for neurodiverse students in high schools?

Hon Erica Stanford: Accommodations and support for neurodiverse students in high schools falls within my learning support priority. Alongside the advice I noted in my response to written parliamentary question 59697 (2024), I have considered several recent reviews which have informed my priority areas for learning support. Some of these include: • The Highest Needs Review (2022) • Submissions from the Māori Affairs Select Committee inquiry into learning support for ākonga Māori (2022) • Social Wellbeing Agency, IDI estimation of unmet learner needs for eight in-scope learner support programmes (2022) • Evaluations by the Education Review Office: o “A Great Start? Education for Disabled Children in Early Childhood” (2022) o “Thriving at school? Education for disabled learners in schools” (2022) o “An Alternative Education? Support for our most disengaged young people” (2023) o “Built in, not bolted on - Evaluation of education at specialist day schools” (2024) o “Good Practice: Behaviour in our Classrooms” (2024).
