59676 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 50582 (2024), how many Oranga Tamariki contracts does the decision to only pay up to 70% of the maximum value of a contract until the services have been provided in full apply to?

Hon Karen Chhour: As advised in my answer to WPQ 50582 (2024), this operational decision applies to care services only. These are services for children in the care and custody of the Chief Executive. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that there are currently 55 contracted care service providers, however this number is subject to change as discussions with providers to finalise the 2024/25 financial year Outcome Agreements are still underway. Contracting decisions are an operational matter and are the responsibility of the Chief Executive of Oranga Tamariki.
