59655 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What funds for pay equity settlements have been transferred to Health New Zealand since 27 November 2023, if any, listed by value, date of transfer and the workforce impacted by the settlement?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Ministry of Health transferred $779.5m (excl GST) to Health New Zealand via Appropriations funding between 27 November 2023 and 18 August 2024. The majority of this related to funding confirmed prior to 1 July 2023, with some Nursing and Midwifery drawdowns confirmed in the October Baseline Update and passed monthly since that time. I am further advised that these are regular monthly payments, which relate to the following settlements: • Nursing Pay Equity • Midwifery Pay Equity • Social Workers Pay Equity • Clerical and Administrators Pay Equity
