59207 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: How much money, if any, has the Government invested in MATES in Construction through the Mental Health and Addiction Community Sector Innovation Fund?

Hon Chris Penk: The Minister for Mental Health is responsible for the Mental Health and Addiction Community Sector Innovation Fund. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has provided $200,000 in 2025/26 to Mates in Construction, a suicide prevention programme that targets high suicide rates in the construction industry. Funding is to support targeted suicide prevention activities with a focus on regional areas and small and medium-sized enterprises.
