59203 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: How much, if anything, will it cost warranty providers to register with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment?

Hon Chris Penk: Officials of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) are currently undertaking policy design work for the new home warranty requirements, including operational settings for the registration process. Decisions on these settings are expected to be taken in parallel with the proposed Building Amendment Bill, which I intend to introduce in 2026.
